Texas Best Pilots

Texas Best Pilots – Field Tester Guide (phone browser)

Thanks for helping test the dispatch app. For this round everything runs on the website in your phone's browser – no app download needed.

Website: https://pilotcardispatch.com · Dispatch: (832) 527-5614 · Kevin Moore: 713-410-9689

The one rule: while you are testing, keep the website open on your screen and keep the screen on. Phone browsers pause GPS when the screen locks or you switch to another app.

1. Sign up

  1. Open https://pilotcardispatch.com in Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android).
  2. Tap Contractor sign up.
  3. Enter your name, company, 10-digit mobile number (job offers come by text), pilot car / unit ID, home city (for example Conroe, TX), the positions you can run, your email, and a password with at least 12 characters.
  4. Tap Create contractor account. You will see Waiting for dispatcher approval.

Tip: add the site to your home screen (Safari: Share → Add to Home Screen; Chrome: ⋮ → Add to Home screen) so it is one tap away.

2. Get approved

3. Allow location

When the site asks to use your location, tap Allow.

iPhone (Safari) – if you tapped Don't Allow or nothing happens: 1. Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services must be On. 2. Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Safari Websites → While Using the App, and turn Precise Location On. 3. In Safari, tap aA (or the page menu) → Website Settings → Location → Allow. 4. Reload the page.

Android (Chrome): 1. Tap the icon left of the web address → Permissions → Location → Allow. 2. Phone Settings → Location must be On; turn on Google Location Accuracy if offered. 3. Reload the page.

4. Go Available (start sharing)

  1. Tap Available · share location and check the consent box.
  2. A green bar appears: Sharing location · last sent __s ago. That number should stay under about 10 seconds.
  3. Keep the screen on and this page in front.
  4. Plug the phone into a charger.
  5. The site asks the phone to keep the screen awake. If the bar says Keep this page open and the screen on, set your screen timeout to the longest setting for the test: iPhone: Settings → Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock → Never. Android: Settings → Display → Screen timeout → longest.
  6. If you answer a call or switch apps, come back to the page – sharing picks back up automatically (or tap Resume tracking).
  7. A yellow bar GPS trouble – still trying means the phone could not get a fix. Move near a window or outside; it keeps trying on its own.

5. Accept the dummy job

  1. Dispatch sends a test job. You get a text (or email, or it just shows up on the site) like: Texas Best Pilots: Job #12 Conroe, TX -> Tomball, TX … First car to accept gets it: https://pilotcardispatch.com/#job=12
  2. Tap the link (sign in if asked) and tap Accept job.
  3. First car to accept gets it. If you win, the job details unlock. If another tester beat you, you will see Filled – thanks! and get a "this job has been filled" message.
  4. Can't run it? Tap Decline so dispatch knows.

Early in testing, texting may not be switched on yet – in that case the offer still appears on the website and dispatch may call you.

6. Run the job steps

With the screen still on, tap each button as it happens:

  1. Heading to pickup
  2. I've arrived
  3. Start Job
  4. Finish Job

Drive (or walk) a short loop between Start and Finish so dispatch can see your trail and GPS miles.

7. When you are done

Tap Go offline · stop sharing. Signing out also stops sharing.
